You may see an error when sending an email with attachments from Compact+ if the email is too large to send. This is usually caused by the size of one or more attachments and may also be detected by Outlook.

Error message

You may see an error similar to:

Error Occurred while Accessing Component property/method: ADD.

You may also see:

Error in IAttach.SaveChanges: MAPI_E_CALL_FAILED; Error Code 0x8020009 WriteEmail Proclaim/mapimail.p(5890)

Why this happens

This error is likely to appear when the email you are trying to send has reached the email size limit.

This is usually caused by large attachments. Outlook may prevent the email from sending if the combined email and attachment size is too large.

What to check

  1. Open the email you are trying to send from Compact+.

  2. Check the size of each attachment.

  3. Check whether the total size of all attachments is likely to exceed the email size limit.

  4. If the attachments are too large, try one of the following:

    • Resize the attachments.

    • Remove unnecessary attachments.

    • Send fewer attachments in one email.

    • Split the attachments across multiple emails, if appropriate.

  5. Try sending the email again.

Important

This error is usually related to attachment size rather than the email text itself. Check large files first, especially scanned documents, images, PDFs, or document bundles.
