A Stamp Duty submission can fail and produce an IRMark error when required contact information is incomplete or inconsistent. This can happen when one DX field is completed but the matching DX field is missing.

Why this happens

The error can occur if contact details are incomplete. For example, the seller’s solicitor contact may have a DX Number entered, but no DX Location.

The DX Number and DX Location fields must either:

  • Both be completed, or

  • Both be left blank.

Fix the IRMark error

  1. Open the relevant case in Compact+.

  2. Double-click the relevant contact name field.

  3. Select Maintain.

  4. Check the DX details for the contact.

  5. Either:

    • Add the missing DX Location, or

    • Remove the DX Number if DX details are not required.

  6. Save the contact entry.

  7. Save the case.

  8. Select the Exit door icon to leave the case.

  9. Re-enter the case.

  10. Submit the SDLT again.

The Stamp Duty submission should then submit successfully.

Important

Check any relevant solicitor or contact records used in the Stamp Duty submission. The IRMark error may be caused by incomplete details on one of the contacts included in the submission, not necessarily the main client record.
